Passed away suddenly in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 56.

Laura was born in Portland, Oregon in 1963. As a child, she travelled extensively with her family, living in Thailand and in remote communities in the north of Alberta, where her parents worked as school teachers. She graduated from Paul Kane High School in St. Albert, Alberta, in 1981, and later earned a diploma in library technology at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Laura worked in a number of different libraries in British Columbia and Alberta before health issues forced her into early retirement.

Laura loved animals, reading, and exploring the natural beauties of Western Canada. Her quick wit, compassion, and love of learning will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice (Bernie) Bashaw and Dale Bashaw, and is survived by her husband Chris, her daughter Imogen McIntyre, her grandson Solomon, her brother Daniel Bashaw, and uncle Bruce Beardsley.

At Laura’s request, there will be no service.
