Amelia Martine Kish
KISH, Amelia passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday July 22, 2026 in Edmonton, Alberta. Survived by her husband, Greg Kish. Loving mother of daughters Alice and Jane. Amelia will be dearly missed by her father Norm and uncle Camille. Predeceased by her mother Joan Van Zant.
Born in Ottawa and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Amelia was one of a kind. She completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University and went on to get her Master's degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto. Residing in Edmonton since 2015, she loved her career as a labour relations professional, working over the years for the Ontario Science Centre, the Government of Alberta and finally the Department of National Defence. She made many friends over time given her energetic and positive attitude and her naturally outgoing nature. She loved to sew, craft, scrapbook and travel. But Amelia loved nothing more than to spend time with her daughters, collectively nicknamed 'Jalice'. They were the jewels of her eyes.
Amelia will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. She lived a "Life well crafted".

Amelia was one of a kind. I worked with her at DND and I will always remember her as a kind and supportive team member whose laugh would brighten up any meeting. She was extremely bright and quick witted and I was lucky to work with her. We often chatted about our daughters and she was so proud of her girls. You could tell that being a mother was her most important job and she loved them more than anything. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this extremely difficult time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
This is an incredibly sad loss. Although my interactions with Amelia were limited, I remember her as a highly competent and dedicated DND Labour Relations Advisor. She was deeply committed to supporting her clients and was always willing to help her colleagues. Amelia was not shy to ask thoughtful and relevant questions during meetings, often benefiting the entire team through her insights. She was kind, approachable, and a pleasure to work with, and she demonstrated genuine empathy in all that she did. She will be remembered fondly and greatly missed. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.

You have all been heavy on my heart! I hope you can take comfort in knowing that Amelia’s kindness, honesty, strength and humour will live on with each of you!
