It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Ann Francis Patrick. Ann passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the age of 81 while bravely battling cancer.

She was born on December 30, 1941 in Glacé Bay, Nova Scotia.

Ann is predeceased by her parents Harry Mombourquette and Alice Guthro. She is survived by her loving children Karen, Vaughan (Laura), Christine (Neil), Shawn (Jill) and her grandchildren, Sarah, Amye, Jenna, Benjamin, Kaede and Breklin and her 4 loving sisters Rita, Sherry, Elaine and Gail.

Ann had an amazing laugh! Her wit was razor sharp and she was known to say the most shocking things she could think of. She made her whole family laugh with her outrageous and exaggerated stories, and all her little sayings. She was kind, generous and compassionate. She always tried to heal what was broken. She struggled with tough love and was fiercely independent and private. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and disfunction. She worried about them, protected them, forgave them and always kept on loving them.
Ann will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind.

Our hearts are so broken. Your love was unconditional and there will not be a day that goes by that we will not miss you. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

At her request, in her final wishes, there will be no memorial service or funeral by her immediate family. She wished to be remembered and acknowledged as a loving Mother, loyal, unselfish friend and respected.

The family of Ann’s wishes would like to thank Foyer Lacombe, St. Albert for all the time spent with Ann even though it was short, and the care they gave during the heartbreaking final moments of Ann’s life.

  1. So sorry for your loss. Ann and I had a special bond, and I will miss her dearly. All her children were very lucky to have such a loving, caring and compassionate mother.
May you forever Rest In Peace ANN.

  8. Christine, I am so sorry to hear about your mothers passing. You are such a beautiful person and I’m sure you got that from her. Prayers to you, your family and your mom in heaven. I would have loved to meet her to chat about our hometown of Glace Bay.

    • Thank you Leah❤️ I’m sure you and Mom would’ve shared some fond memories of Glacé Bay.

  9. I have many fond memories of Aunty Ann of the many fun times with our families. It felt like our moms were more like sisters than cousins, I always thought they looked so similar, beautiful Elizabeth Taylor lookalikes. I hope she is resting peacefully now, and maybe her and my mom are playing cards or reminiscing up there with all our memories. Much love to all of you, Karen, Vaughn, Christine, and Shawn xx

  10. Mom…I’m really missing you. I love you so much.
