Bohdan (Bob) Kadylo
Bohdan (Bob) age 72, passed away peacefully at home with his “Guardian Angel” Karen, his wife of more than 50 years at his side.
Bob is survived by his son David. He is survived by his mother Veronica Kadylo, sister Jeannie (John) Franklin, brother Morris Kadylo (Julie Semmler), and by nieces, nephews and extended family.
Bob was predeceased by his father Bohdan Sr. Kadylo.
After an amazing teaching career of almost 40 years, Bob retired in 2013 from Archbishop Jordan High School in Sherwood Park where he was respected by colleagues, students and staff alike. As a teacher he encouraged others to be curious and eager to learn.
Many colleagues and students kept in touch over the years to visit and reminisce.
Bob was affectionately known as “Mr. Fix It”. Everyone knew, “If Uncle Bob can’t fix it, consider it broken.”
In retirement Bob kept busy driving a crane truck, tinkering with all types of things, connecting with friends old and new and collecting “STUFF”.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, if you wish to:

Karen he was a special soul, kind, friendly, honest. It was a honor to be his friend. He will be missed by many of us.
Karen and David,
I know that I am speaking on behalf for many of the students that Bob taught, he was such an inspiration to so many that he prepared us to go out in the World where everything was possible, nothing was impossible, he lead us side by side, he was more our friend than our teacher….godspeed my friend…
with honour and gratitude, Don Stein class of ’77

You made us work, and we are the better for it! A dedicated teacher! R
Deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Kadylo’s passing only now in mid/late May. He was a kind and humble teacher, mentor, and all around great person. He will be missed.
Was fortunate enough to connect with him a few times when I moved back from Vancouver to Sherwood Park in to manage my elderly parents in 2023, after nearly 30 years since going away.
One of Bob’s Class of ‘85 students and a friend a year ahead of me, James Bruchal, had passed due to illness in 2023. As a result of this memorial page to James on Facebook,I was able to reconnect with Bob and other teachers from my Class of ‘84 at Archbishop Jordan.
Had the pleasure of meeting his spouse and (now late) mother in 2024 where we met over a couple lunches and a monthly ABJ retired teacher A&W breakfast.
He always had a natural curiosity about the world and I even introduced him to traditional Trinidadian food at a local restaurant near his home—a place he proudly showed visitors he had helped his father build in the late 60s.
Bob could discuss all things science, business, politics, and community with friends. He took great enjoyment browsing school yearbooks he traded with me temporarily—from the late 70s to ‘84 for a trip down memory lane at the school he served at for so many years.
Perhaps the brightest teacher I had ever had, his love for learning and mentoring had a great impact on my science-based career as well as a number of my peers, and I’ll always remember him.
Peace to you my friend.
Deepest condolences to family and those who knew him.
Mr. Ash Mustapha
