George Jamil Farrah
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father and Opa George Farrah. He was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia 6 weeks ago and at 91 he was unable to fight the disease.
George was born 28.November, 1934 in Dhour el Chouier, Lebanon. He came to Canada when he was 14 years old. He met his wife Irmie who also was 14 years old when she came to Canada from Germany.
George had a variety of jobs and skills. He and his wife Irmie owned and operated ladies dress shops for almost 20 years. George was most at home tending to his vegetable garden and helping at his son’s greenhouse business. But his greatest accomplishment was his family of 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
George is predeceased by his parents Latify and Michael, his sisters Samia and Violet and his brother Assad.
George is survived by his wife Irmie, daughter Sam (Alex) Stieda, son Michael (Dani) Farrah, son Kevan (Anita) Farrah and daughter Andrea (Tim) Weishaupt. Brothers Emile and Sabah Farrah. Grandchildren Kalie, AJ, Nico, Natasha, Isaac, Aidan, Noah, Tirza and Jon-Michael. Great grandson, Grayson.
We would like to thank the staff at the U of A hospital and Pilgrims Hospice for their amazing care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Pilgrims Hospice.

May you rest in peace with Jesus our Lord.
