Jeannette Marie Irene Richardson (nee) Charest
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend Jeannette Marie Irene Richardson (nee) Charest.
Jeannette passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026 at the age of 83, she was surrounded and comforted by her family who loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years and her son Dean.
Words cannot express the light that Jeannette illuminated onto the lives of all who loved and knew her. She has forever imprinted the hearts of family and friends who cherished her so dearly.
Jeannette was born in Westlock, Alberta on December 11, 1942 and was the third oldest of eight children. Her sister Doreen (Alec) (both predeceased), Rita (Ron, predeceased), Marlene (Rodney) (both predeceased), Yvonne (predeceased) (Ray), Joanne (Mark, predeceased), were her truest friends as well as her brothers Paul and Jerry (both predeceased) who she would gather with every weekend and party till dawn.
Jeannette and her sister Doreen were famous for their two-step and would clear the dance floor everytime. Her love of garage sales was unparalleled, her daughter would do her best to distract her and attempt to drive by them but to no avail mom could smell them out. Her dog Layla was her bestest of companions, the two were stuck together like glue and she would often share her morning toast with her. She enjoyed and was most happy being surrounded by her family and friends and adored the noise of a home filled with commotion and laughter. She had a strong spirit which radiated independence and was continuously a shoulder to lean on for those around her. Whilst at a community dance she would meet her future husband Gordon, who happened to be the singer of the band playing that night. They went on to move to Edmonton where they successfully ran their painting and decorating company for many years. Together they would raise their three children, Farren (Jenn), Shayna (Iyad), and Darryl who are all testaments to her hard working, determined, and infinitely loving character. Her grandchildren Braiden, Makayla, Madina, and Savannah are forever engraved with the memories of love and laughter she generously gave them. To have her as a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother was to know what it meant to be unconditionally loved and shielded by her strong nature and will remain a gift in our hearts forever.
