Letitia Ann Messier (Greer)
(August 10, 1940 – March 25, 2026)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of  Letitia Ann Messier on March 25, 2026, at the age of 85.

She was predeceased by her true love and husband, Bruce, in 2000.

Letitia leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Yvonne Gonyer (Manny), Charolette Brand, and Shawn Messier (Monica). She was the proudest Grandma to Haley, Cassidy, and Bailey Brand, and Branden (Darien) and Kayla Messier.

She is also survived by her brothers, George, Russell, and Glenn Greer; her sisters, Marg Goudreau and Bertha Johns; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Born and raised in Irma, Alberta, Letitia moved to Edmonton shortly after marrying Bruce in 1958. Her life’s dream was to build a family, and she excelled as an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother.

A vibrant social butterfly, Letitia loved bowling, sewing, camping, fishing , and a good game of cards.
She was a familiar face at flea markets across the province, where she shared her passion for and making her tied fleeced blankets.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Vasanji for his years of excellent care, and to Dr. Debenham and the team at the Cross Cancer Institute.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Edmonton People in Need Shelter Society (in memory of Letitia Messier) (www.epins.ca). or  Parkinson’s Association of Alberta (www.parkinsonassociation.ca)

  1. Yvonne, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother! What a shock! I know Tesh and worked with her for years at the Stony Plain Farmer’s Market. Not once did she complain about her health. I feel bad, I did not even know she was dealing with Cancer.

What I do know is that your mother was a caring, gentle and wonderful lady. We always chatted about her granddaughters. She was so proud of them and their accomplishments.

My heart goes out to you and the family. I will certainly miss your mother at the market this year. ❤️🤗 ❤️

    • Thank you Shirley, for your kind words. Yes her granddaughters were her world.

  2. Mom
The day you left and gained your wings, my heart just broke in two. I wish you could have stayed with me but heaven obviously needed you. You left me with memories and I love you dearly. These words from a song, rings so true to me
” At eighty-six my grandpa said, “There’s angels in the room”
All the family gathered ’round, knew the time was comin’ soon
With so much left to say I prayed, Lord, I ain’t finished
Just give us five more minutes,
I so wanted those 5 MINUTES!!!

I know I can’t bring you back, although I still feel your presence all the time, however a piece of me went with you the day you went away.

Love you and miss you dearly MOM……
