After 92 full and happy years, Lois May Heritage (nee Jenks) passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Saturday, January 17, 2026.

She was born on April 26, 1933, in Eastnor Township, Ontario in the farmhouse she first grew up in. Her love for God and His creation began blossoming from birth. In 1958, she received her Scholar of Theology certificate from The Anglican Women’s Training College at Wycliffe College in Toronto, Ontario. Also, as the wife of an Anglican minister, she was perfectly situated to grow in her faith by immersing herself within the communities of faith in Humbolt, Unity, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; Edgerton, Leduc, and Devon, Alberta; Maple Ridge, British Columbia; and back to Leduc in retirement, eventually settling in Edmonton. Lois served God happily, always inviting others to share in her joy with gentleness, kindness, and warmth.

Lois is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Reverend Peter Heritage. She leaves behind three sons and three daughters-in-law: David and Rosalie, Stephen and Lorri, and John and Rayleen. She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Jennifer (Keith), Michael (Alecia), Susan, Anne, and Julia (Muhammad).  Her great-grandchildren, Haley, Isaac, and Adalyn, will miss her attention and her baking.  Although paid employment came in many forms, she considered raising her family with unconditional love to be the most fulfilling aspect of her life.

Her family extends a special thank you for the care and attention given by the staff at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital – Specialized Geriatrics Unit, during her final days.
