Louis Skagos
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend, Louis Skagos at the age of 88. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family by his side on October 31, 2025.
Born on July 25, 1937 in Agios Ioannis, Lakonia, Greece. After spending most of his early life as a shepherd and with the hope to have a better life, Louis immigrated to Canada on October 20, 1957.
From the moment Louis settled in Regina, Saskatchewan, guided by his hard work ethic, he learned all aspects of the restaurant industry to finally owning his own restaurants.
In 1964, Louis moved to Edmonton, Alberta and this is where he met the love of his life, Andriana. During their time together, they were blessed with two daughters, Nancy and Matina. After owning several restaurants, along with his brother, Spiro, Louis and Andriana decided to move to Camrose in 1977 and opened up Bono’s Family Restaurant. After, Spiro decided to go his own way in 1981, Louis and Andriana along with their daughters made Camrose their home for 35 years. Louis became a pillar of the community with his affectionate ability to make everyone feel at home when coming to Bono’s. With his contagious laugh, kind heart, gentle soul and inviting smile, everyone was welcomed by him into the Skagos Family. His legacy of being well respected, and loved will be ever lasting.
Louis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years Andriana, daughters, Nancy and Matina. Brothers Spiro, Andonis (Eleni), and Pericles, sisters in law, Rosemarie, and Vaso, and brother in law Gianni. He will also be lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, cousins, god children, and many friends.
Louis was predeceased by his parents (Demetrios and Athanasia), brothers George and Vasilis, and sister Soula, nephew Jim and niece Athena. Brothers in law Ted, John and Peter and Sisters in law Panagoita, Athanasia, Voula and Angie.
The family extend heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Misericordia Hospital, unit 8E for all their love and support.

Condolences to Louis Family
Condolences to you Andriana, Nancy and Matina. Lou was the best boss and you all treated my kids and I like family. Lou taught me alot in the kitchen and I use many of his Greek recipes even today. I still miss him saying “Ukrainian get back here” when ever we didn’t see eye to eye on things. He will always be close to my heart. RIP Boss!
My deepest condolences for your loss. May his memory be eternal and may he rest in peace. He will be missed.
A smile and a laugh that would light up an entire room…. I was fortunate enough to know the Skagos family through my late father Karim, and later my employment as a part of the Oasis family. No one ran a kitchen like Louis! Please know we remember you all often, and quite fondly. Praying for your strength in such a difficult time.
Condolences to the family. We knew him from Bonos in Camrose – such a great restaurant!!! He always took the time to make you feel special! Wonderful to have known him
