On April 22, 2020 Mrs. Maria Fatima Sacco of Edmonton passed away peacefully at the age of 66 year after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

She will be sadly missed by her family : daughter Jeanette (Andrea) Pagnotta; son Joseph; granddaughter Chiara Pagnotta; three sisters: Carmita (Adelino) Da Ponte, Eduarda (Fernando) Da Luz,  Susana (Brian) Mitchell; her brother : Edward (Barb) Cipriano, and extended family.

Maria is predeceased by her husband Luigi; parents Eduardo and Luzia Cipriano, and other extended family and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Brit-Leigh Fermaniuk,  the staff at the Grey Nuns palliative care unit , as well as the staff at University of Alberta Hospital for their support during this difficult time.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum.  A celebration of life will be announced at a later date .

  3. Jeanette, Joe, Ange, and Chiara. I am so sorry for your lost. I have many fond memories of your mom growing up. She was always very welcoming and I always considered you to be very lucky to have such a “cool mom.” I hope you can find some solace reminiscing on your memories of your mom during this very difficult time.
