July 29, 1918 - June 12, 2012

On June 12, 2012 Mildred Isabel Erickson of Edmonton, formerly of Medicine Hat, AB passed away at the age of 93 years.

Mildred was born to Ernest and Daisy Gatzke on July 29, 1918 in Nebb, SK. She met Albert "Swede" Erickson in Lethbridge, AB and they married on December 28, 1947.

Mildred as a wife, mother, grandma and friend, lived a simple, fulfilling life built on a foundation of love and respect for life, family and friends. She was devoted and proud of her family; the unconditional love she shared with her grandchildren, Davin and Lisa, gave her ever lasting joy and happiness. She was forever loyal and grateful for the life-long and beloved friendships of Doris Close, Sylvia Hoffos, Vi Bell and Vera Vaughan.  She was a woman who looked for the good in everyone and everything life afforded her.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Judy Erickson and Patricia (Dave) Greenfield; two grandchildren: Davin (Elena) Greenfield and Lisa Greenfield (fiance Tyler) as well as many relatives and dear friends. She was predeceased by "Swede" in 1989, her sister Bernice and her brother Glen Gatzke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to a charity of one's choice.

  1. My cousin has encountered your Mom in her workplace and found out that Mildred comes from Medicine Hat and we were neighbours. She informed us that your Mom has passed on. I would like to send you my deepest condolence at this time. I’m sure, my parents do as well.

Your Mom always seemed happy … that’s the main thing I recall about her.

Coni (Cornelia) may send you a note as well. Hope you receive this.

Take care and I wish you all the best.
    Gisela

  2. We have life-long memories of our dear neighbours, the Erickson’s, which we have cherished immensely. Everything from glasses of Pepsi as we watched “The Edge of Night” to skipping rope or playing ball, or enjoying a piece of maple fudge to playing house in your basement. You were a part of our lives for many years and we share your sorrow in the passing of Mrs. Erickson.
    Sincerest sympathy from
Paul and Christel Richter, and Coni and John Christo and family in Medicine Hat.
