He was loved so deeply by his devoted family and friends in Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and England.
Michael was a wealth of knowledge in any field that interested him, and was eager to share. The whole world loses when someone like him leaves.

A man always with a smile
on his face, oil
creased into palms
that work miracles
in snow and sun to wrestle
metal beasts back to life.
No darkness lurking,
no narrowed eyes judging.
A man whose calloused hands
tenderly hold children loved
as simply as lungs breathe air.
A good man who found a heart
as pure as his own to share
this grim world's joy and pain,
its bewildering confusion.
Forever missed.

We are so sorry for the loss of your darling husband, father and brother. Growing up in 80s Ireland one of our greatest joys was hearing Michael’s motorbike pull into our yard. Then he was greeted by a scramble of rowdy little red heads who adored him and literally jumped on him. He was always patient, kind and fun loving and we felt safe and loved with him.
