Odilia Van Wyk

Odilia Van Wyk (née de Jong), age 97, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026.

She was a loving and devoted mother, Oma (grandmother), and cherished member of her family. Odilia is survived by her children: Henry (Lonna), Jacqueline, Marilyn (James), and Darlene (Kevin). She is reunited in peace with her sons, John and Francis. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Hendrika Jacoba de Jong of the Netherlands; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a loving extended family of nieces and nephews, both here and abroad.

Born in Laren, Holland, Odilia immigrated to Canada in the late 1950s, carrying with her strength, faith, and a deep love for family. She was a woman of remarkable creativity and talent, with a special gift for flower arranging and crafts, and an artist's eye that brought beauty to everything she touched.

Odilia found joy in music and reading, and lived a life devoted to her faith and to God. Her warmth, creativity, quiet strength, and the smile she always had for everyone will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
