It is with incredible sadness and heavy hearts, that the family of Raymond announce his tragic passing on May 1, 2025, at the age of 79 years old.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving partner Cheryl and Kiwi, his daughters Erin (Jeff) and Robyn; his grandchildren Taylor (Matt); Tegan and Summer; his motherly sister Marlene of Yorkton, SK; his brother Reg of Kingston, ON; brothers-in-law Jim and Thomas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Wanda and Reinhold Reshke, sister Frances and brother Bryden.

Ray was born on April 22, 1946, in Yorkton SK, the son of Reinhold and Wanda (nee Weidman) Reshke. He attended Burke and Simpson Elementary schools, completing his education at the Yorkton Regional High school. During his youth, he attended the Presbyterian Church where he served as a youth leader. He loved sports, having played hockey during his youth. After school and on weekends he worked at Dowie Stationery and after his graduation was offered a job at Dowie’s in Moose Jaw as store manager. He declined this opportunity as it wasn’t his interest, but rather he attended the University of Regina where he graduated, with honours, with a degree in Economics. His first job after graduation was with the Government of Alberta which he held many different positions and ending his career as an Assistant Deputy Minister. Ray was always a very hard worker and an active person so after he retired, he decided to work with PGRN, a non-profit organization as Executive Director which he would work at until the end.

Ray’s love of sports continued throughout his life. He enjoyed golfing, hockey and many hours of fishing especially at Good Spirit Lake and Seba Beach. Where he spent many happy times with family and friends. Also, he was a very avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan as well as the Edmonton Oilers fan (he would always call his sister after the games to discuss the results with her).

Throughout all the trials and problems that came in his life, he was a strong and caring person who truly enjoyed life to the fullest. His death will definitely leave a every lasting void in his family and friends lives but is comforting to know that he will now be reunited with his loved ones. He will be fondly remembered, greatly missed and always very loved.

A celebration of Ray's life, a time to gather, laugh and share memories, will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers please donate to any animal shelter of your choosing in his name.
