Richard (Rick) Jubb passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 in Edmonton at the age of 76.

He was deeply loved by his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Hella, his daughter, Susan (Salif), and his sister, Dorothy. He will also be missed by his brother and sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, and many caring friends. He was predeceased by his brother Robert (Bob) and his parents, Harry and Annie Jubb.

Rick was born on August 3, 1947, in Edmonton. Growing up as the youngest of three children, he loved taking things apart and trying to put them back together. Rick went on to do his journeyman in auto mechanics at NAIT. He started his mechanics career at Waterloo Ford and then went to work at the RCMP post garage in Edmonton, where he retired after 27 years of service.

After retirement, Rick enjoyed camping with his wife, Hella, and cat, Speedy. They often took out the fifth wheel and later the motorhome to meet friends and family at various campsites around Alberta. He looked forward to having weekly breakfasts with friends. He also went on several trips to Mexico, Jamaica, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.

  1. We were great early school friends, and had a carefree childhood wandering about the Westwood area. Sorry for your loss.

  2. Aww, my buddy and friend passed away. Too soon, methinks. Sorrow felt for those he left behind, his wife Hella and daughter Susie, and sister Dorothy. We did have our fun times, at the old house and his Mom’s place. He was quite the mechanic guy. Post Garage staff will miss him. I’ll miss him.

  3. Rest in peace my friend. I enjoyed working with you at the post garage. You were a master in mechanics and fabrication. May God be with you.
