We were deeply saddened to hear of Aunt Winnie’s passing in Canada. Her loss leaves a quiet ache in our hearts, made all the heavier by the distance and circumstances that kept many of her dearest loved ones from being by her side in her final days.
Aunt Winnie was a woman of warmth, quiet strength, and enduring grace. Her presence in our lives—whether near or far—was always deeply felt. Her trips back home to see family and spend time with her sister Ruby, the drives to Dublin for sightseeing and to Molly Malone and Temple Bar.
It is heartbreaking not to have had the chance to say goodbye, to hold her hand, or remind her of how much she meant to us. Still, we carry her memory in all the moments she gave us—her laughter, her wisdom, her unwavering support through the years.
Our thoughts are with Dessie & Karrie, Rhonda & Dan, Jackie & Jeff and others who mourn her today, especially those who may be feeling a complicated mix of grief, regret, and love.
From all of her nieces and nephews in Belfast, Northern Ireland and their extended families.
Sadly on June 11 2025 we mourn the lost of a wonderful mother, mother-in-law , Grandmother , great Grandmother , and Great Great grandmother Rest in Pease Mom we love you
My Mom was a wonderful lady and she deserved so much more than she was given. Her 2 oldest kids Ken & Sandy have honoured her and her wishes to the letter. I Sandy was with my mom when she took her last breath and I had said to her that it was her time to go and be with Dad, with that she went to be with him quietly and peacefully.
When I found out you passed my heart sank, I’m beyond thankful to have called you my Auntie Winnie for the past 27 years, and I’ll always cherish those memories you & Gran gave me when I was little. The circle is complete and you’re with all your siblings again ❤️ Love you Auntie Winnie!
