Zonya Elizabeth Sabourin

Zonya Sabourin passed away surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 23, 2005.

She is survived by her very special companion, Merlin, a slightly grumpy, chunky gray cat to whom she loved to pieces. She is also survived by her children, Rheal & Julia Harrison-Sabourin, Corrie & David Geertsen, Lizz Sabourin & Scott Hough, Tammy Lyttle, Pamela & Shawn Brown, Darin & Tracey Nelson, and Bradley & Carla Nelson. Zonya shared 19 grandchildren with her late partner, Ken Nelson. Joel, Autumn Garrett, Brennan, & Bohdan, Dominique, Tamara, Colten, Cody, Austin, Morgan, Madison, Tristan, Baley, Levi, Monty, Braedon, Logan, and Dylan. They also shared several great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sisters Trudy Best and Beverly Cotton and will be fondly remembered by her dear friends Marcel & Nancy Sabourin. Many sisters-in-law, nieces, and extended family and friends will remember Zonya in the days and years to come.

Zonya was predeceased by her partner Ken Nelson, her brother Alan Erickson, brothers-in-law Clifford Best & Robert Cotton, and parents, Gustave & Anna Erickson.

A celebration of Zonya’s life will be held in 2026. Donations may be made to the Yamnuska WolfDog Sanctuary, PO Box 1377, Cochrane, Alberta T4C 1B3
