
Jason Brant Sudom
On June 3, 2026, Jason Brant Sudom passed peacefully at the age of 55 in Edmonton, AB, with family by his side.
He was born on July 12, 1970, in Regina, SK, and raised in Pilot Butte, SK. Jason grew up playing many sports, including hockey, basketball, and baseball. He worked in the golf industry for 20 years in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Jason moved to Fort McMurray with his family in 2004, where he worked for the Parks Department and then as a Contracts Supervisor. He retired and moved to Edmonton, AB in July 2025.
Jason’s interests included playing cards, board games, fishing, poker, golfing, and watching the NFL and NHL. He was a hockey referee for many years. Jason enjoyed running and was always trying to improve his time; he competed in a few races including 2 half marathons. Jason volunteered his time with coaching and the Special Olympics. We will miss his sense of humor and straight talk. He enjoyed travelling to various places in North America; Las Vegas was one of his favorites.
Jason is survived by his wife, Dawn (nee Middleton) and two sons, Quintin and Julius. His mother, Sharon Parish; brother, Donald (Lisa); nieces Terri-Lyn (Lovish), Hanna (Connor), Abby; and his adopted brother Nicholas. He is predeceased by his father, Grant Sudom.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation in Jason’s name be given to a charity of your choice, the Canadian Cancer Society or a local SPCA.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July 2026.
