1942 - 2025

With full hearts we announce the passing of Albertine Porter. Born in Lac-Mégantic, Québec, she moved to northern Alberta as a child and made a home in many parts of this beautiful province.

She devoted her life to caring for others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Albertine was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Germaine, sister Elise, brother Jacques, husband Kenneth, and beautiful daughter Michelle.

She is survived by her brothers Claude, Michel, sisters Marie (Roger) Lanctot, Therese, sons John (Ambere), David, Jim (Faith Mansfield), and grandchildren Julia, Ross, and Fiona, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Albertine faithfully attended St. Vital Parish Beaumont, was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, and was instrumental in starting and supporting pastoral care at the Parish. She was renowned for her baking, and her smile showed so much delight in stories that were shared.

Albertine is loved and will be deeply missed. The Porter family is comforted that Albertine is now at peace in the arms of the angels.

  1. The Cornforth branch of this family send special prayers and thoughts to all of Albertine’s family. Our connection is through Ambere Porter who is my niece. My sister, Laura who passed away last November spoke often of her and how much she enjoyed spending time with her and the family. I didn’t know her very well but always seemed to have a great conversation when I was in Edmonton for various family occasions. Take care of yourselves! Love Val

  2. On behalf of the Archibald family, our condolences to the entire Porter and extended family. Our thoughts are with you at this difficulty time.

  3. Dear John, David, Jim, and Family,
I was heartbroken to hear of your loss. Auntie Albertine held a very special place in my life. As my godmother, I will always be grateful for the warmth, time, and effort she lovingly shared with me during my formative years.
Thinking back to the many family gatherings that often included my favorite Auntie Albertine foods — her legendary Nanaimo bars, her crispy chicken nuggets, and my all-time favorite, her personalized birthday cakes — always puts a smile on my face.
Please accept my deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
    With love and sympathy,
    Paula

  4. Sending our most sincere sympathies to her immediate family & all the Idanger Family members! May she forever Rest In Peace!
