ANNE BEVERLEY PRICE
Tell me,
What is it you plan to do
With your one
Wild and precious life.
--- Mary Oliver

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne our dear partner, mother, sister, teacher and friend on Dec 24th at University of Alberta Hospital. She was surrounded by her beloved son Nathan and her partner John as well as other close family members.

Anne was born near Moncton, N.B. on August 22, 1956. She was the 6th child in a family of 7.

After finishing high school in Moncton she went to UNB and completed her B.Ed. She then travelled to Edmonton to start her teaching career. Anne was a devoted teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board for 35 years. She taught children with a multitude of challenges and always expressed great respect for them and their devoted parents. While teaching full time she was raising her son Nathan as a single parent.

After retirement she travelled widely with her much loved partner John to China, South America, Europe and throughout Canada.

Anne was a life long learner and into the last months of her life enjoyed her water colour painting group, playing bridge, volunteering at Wellspring, a cancer support organization, and photography on her daily walks in the Whitemud ravine near her home.

She will be missed always by John, Nathan (Jen) grandchildren Paige and Nathan, Roger, Haley, Olivia, Elizabeth, and Ace. Also, by her 5 remaining siblings Janet, Edith, Eric, Kathryn and Jim as well as her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Tom.

In lieu of flowers Anne requested a donation to a favorite charity.

A private Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on January 6th, 2025 at 10am.

  1. I was heartbroken to hear this very sad news. I just saw Anne in September when she rec’d the breast cancer news. I so enjoyed our visits (which always included a walk and wine)every time I was out there. Such a kind and gentle person you are missed. Hugs from Craig and Gloria

  2. John and Nathan, I am so sorry for your loss. Anne was only 9-10 years old when I started dating Tom. She was so quiet and shy and such a sweet girl. When I got the news of her passing the feeling of loss was overwhelming as it brought back what I felt when Tom passed. My heart is heavy for you and Nathan and her siblings. Grief is a hard thing to endure. People say that time is the healer. I say it isn’t, we learn to adjust and cope with the loss of someone we loved so dearly.
We were so lucky to have had that time in 2019 to all be together.
Again my condolences and cherish all those memories you and Anne made together.
    Hugs.

  3. John, I am so very sorry your loss. I only had the pleasure of meeting Anne once but from what Gloria has said and the happy travel photos you shared on Facebook, the two of you were clearly happy and shared a full life together. It is always much harder to say goodbye to someone we love when they are still young with a real thirst and zest for life.
I hope your many happy, loving memories and the support of loved ones will help you through the difficult times ahead.

    Warmest regards.
    Linda Garossino

  4. We are very sorry for your loss. Anne was kind, generous and always eager to learn something new. She will be missed and always remembered.
    Louise and David Brodie

  5. So very sorry for your loss of Anne Nate, Jen, Paige and lil Nate. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Anne was a very lovely lady and it was a pleasure to have met her.

  6. John, Nathan and extended family,
Sending our deepest sympathy of the passing
of Anne. She was compassionate, caring,
kind and resilient in all endeavours. Our
thoughts of comfort and strength are with you in the coming days and months. I treasured
our lifelong friendship. Anne will be close in tthought and tucked forever in my heart.

  7. John, Nathan, Janet, Jim, Eric, Edith,Kathy & the rest of Anne’s family, I’m sending our condolences to you all. Although Anne and I didn’t see each other many times in the last 50 years we spent every day together for our first 18 years. Being very close cousins but more importantly best friends only 23 days apart. I wish we had lived closer in our adult life because I always missed her and so enjoyed any time spent with her. The last time I saw Anne she and John came to visit our home here in NB in 2019. We never lost that close connection and I am so sad for all who knew her. She was truly the sweetest person I ever had the privilege of knowing. Love her forever Maureen & Wayne ❤️
