The family of Attila Bagoly of Edmonton is saddened to announce his passing on June 19, 2023 at the age of 91.

He is predeceased by his parents András and Mária, his brothers Béla and Laci, his sister Sarolta, his niece Julie and his beloved wife Annette.

Attila was an eternal optimist. When asked, “How are you Attila bácsi?” with a big grin he always and emphatically answered, “REMEKÜL” (GREAT)! Although not having any children of his own, Attila leaves behind to mourn his passing several nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and even great-great ones.

He was everyone’s favorite uncle. His witty charm and his always helpful and kind manner will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him.

A Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00pm at St. Emeric Roman Catholic Hungarian church located at 12960-112 St, Edmonton.

Internment of his ashes to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery at 13819-82 St.

Throughout his life in Edmonton, Attila consistently and unbiasedly supported the Catholic Hungarian Association (CHA), the 26th P.O. Hungarian Scout Troop, St. Emeric Catholic Hungarian Church and the Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider making a donation in his name to any of these groups.

  1. He was a great uncle always was a happy guy to see his nieces and nephews always gave us candy and money he was a very special uncle and he made fabulous wine aswell he will be truly missed give my mother a big hug for me Attila love you lisa great niece

  2. With heavy and sad hearth have to accept that the last member of the Old Country’s Bagoly Family ATTILA returned to his creator for eternal life.
    GOD gave him a nice good life and now was the time to answer His call.
    We are sending deepest condolences to his relatives and close friends. and we are keeping, his memories in our heart. He always will be our DEAR ATTILA BA.
