God saw you getting tired, when a
cure was not to be
So he closed his arms around you
and whispered “Come to Me”.
You didn’t deserve what you went
through, so He gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
And when we saw you sleeping, so
peaceful and free from pain,
We could not wish you back to
suffer that again.

On March 23, 2024, Darlein Warren of Edmonton passed away at the age of 74.

She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, and neighbour.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her children Paul (Colleen), Michelle, and Chauntel; her grandchildren Kody, Karly (Matt), Kyle, Morgan, Ryan, Brody and Ben; and her great grandchildren Mira and Mia. Also left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law Linda Veikley, dear friends Val Elyn and Peggy Rac, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and co-workers.

She was predeceased by her two brothers Walter (Chick) Veikley and Robert (Bob) Veikley.

Darlein spent many years at Canterbury Manor, and adored all of the staff, residents, and families, as they adored her. How fortunate to go to a place everyday that you loved and were
loved.

Darlein lived at her co-op for many years and neighbours fast became life-long friends. How lucky to live somewhere with neighbours who gave more than they ever asked in return.

Mom spent her final months at the most special place, Pilgrims Hospice (Roozen House) in west Edmonton.

The family is so grateful to all of the staff and volunteers for making her final months so wonderful. Thank you.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Darlein’s memory to the Pilgrim’s Hospice (pilgrimshospice.com).

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Darlein’s life may be planned at a later date.
