On May 26, 2026 Darrel passed away at the age of 60.

Darrel is survived by his wife Tanya and their two children, Braden and Rheanna; his mother Betty Giese; his brothers Claude (Patti) Giese, Darcy Giese; his sister Donna (Gord) Rogers; His nieces Jennifer (Sean), Ashley (Dylan), Jaymee (Colin), Nikki (Will); his nephew Ross (Tori), and his great nieces Sloan, Brae, Ellie, Scottie; and his great nephew Logan.

Darrel was predeceased by his father Arthur Giese.

The family had a small private celebration of life.

Though their time with us feels far too short,
their spirit will forever guide us,

their stories will continue to be told,
and their love will remain a light in our hearts.
We are grateful for every shared smile, every warm embrace,
and every memory that will keep them close, always.

  3. I was so sad to hear of Darrel’s passing. So young. I grew up with Darrel in the Glengarry neighbourhood and went to school with him, always a kind and funny guy. My deepest condolences to his family

  6. My sincere condolences go out to the entire Giese family. I also grew up in the Glengarry district and It seems like only yesterday that we were having fun running around at the Glengarry park or playing foosball or shooting pool at the soccer shack arcade. I have lots of wonderful memories hanging out with Darrel and he was always one of the people that I really enjoyed catching up with at our annual Christmas cheers. We always had a great time reminiscing. You will be missed my old friend.
