George Robert Falconer
June 18, 1955 – July 15, 2025
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of George Robert Falconer, who passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, on June 18, 1955, George lived a bold and passionate life filled with family, stories, laughter, and love. He proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces as part of the airborne unit — a role that reflected his adventurous spirit and fearless determination.
Throughout his life, George held many roles with pride and skill: TTC bus driver, gas fitter, heat treater, and most recently, a local truck driver — a job he truly enjoyed. Through his work, he had the opportunity to travel the world, always returning with new stories and unforgettable experiences.
George is survived by his cherished wife, Niki (Monique) Lamoureux and is lovingly remembered by Niki’s children: Brian Burshtinski (Amber), Melysa Schlender (Garett), and Pamela Fleischer (Jeff). He was affectionately known as Papa G to their children: Tayte and Maddy (Keith Carson), Ladora, and Lukas and Levi — a title he wore with pride and joy.
George is also survived by his children: Robert Falconer (Nevada), and their children: Berlin, Kansas, and Lincoln; Brenda Lawrence (James), and their children: Christopher and Victoria.
He is also survived by his sister, Lori Rankin (Bill), along with her family.
George had this amazing aura about him. You could instantly tell when he walked into a room. He was super proud, passionate, and always quick with a joke or a funny story. Politics, hockey, and fishing were his favourite topics, and he was always up for a chat about them. He loved sharing his thoughts, stories, and his sharp sense of humour.
He loved the outdoors, great conversation, and cheering (mostly yelling) for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. His humour, strength, and loyalty left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of life service will be held August 9, 2025 at the Cork and Barley 4274 137 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB @ 2:00 pm.
The family wishes to thank the AHS Palliative Care team for their incredible support and compassionate care during George’s illness. In addition, appreciation is extended to the staff at Pilgrims Hospice Care Centre for their exceptional services and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in George’s memory to a veterans’ support organization of your choice or Pilgrims Hospice Centre (Roozen Family Hospice Centre) 9808 148 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5N 3E8.
George lived fully, loved fiercely, and will never be forgotten — he leaves behind extended family and many cherished friends.
