It is with sadness that the family of Hazel Isabella Ann Elborne (Meek) announces her passing on July 12, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 92.

Hazel was born on May 15, 1934, in Colgate, Saskatchewan and grew up in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, to Anna and George Meek, who predeceased her. She lived a life centered on family, love, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Hazel was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon Elborne; her daughter, Lori Brohman; her son, Craig Elborne; her parents, Anna and George Meek; her brother, Orville Meek; and her sister, June Meek.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Tod Elborne (Betty Ann); her son-in-law Jim Brohman; her grandchildren Erin Brohman, Amy Brohman (Bryce), Meghan Lakusta (Darryl), Liam Brohman (Sigourney), Ryan, and Dean Elborne; and her cherished great-grandchildren Sydney, Rhys, Emilia, and Sigried. She also leaves behind family and dear friends who will remember her with love and gratitude.

Hazel's greatest joy was her family, and her legacy lives on through the generations she loved so deeply. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral service to celebrate Hazel's life will be planned and held at a future date.

  2. Hazel was a member of the Westend Seniors Activity Centre and a Spirited Euchre card player. Her friendship and quick wit were enjoyed by all. She greeted everyone with her warm smile.
