The long goodbye is now the final goodbye...

Joao Joaquim Raposo, 83, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2015 after bravely weathering the devastating effects of Alzheimers/Dementia for many years

Predeceased by his beloved wife Irene and younger brothers Rolando, and Jose, "John" will now be lovingly remembered by his daughters Maria (William) and Marta (Glen) and his four grandsons: Justen, Nigel, Everett and Tristen, along with extended family and friends.

Born September 24, 1931 to Jose and Filomena Raposo in Ponta Delgada, Azores, John emigrated to Canada in 1969, working hard to provide a life and home for his young family in their newly adopted country.

He was happiest when in the great outdoors and when assisting others.

The Family is exceedingly grateful for the warmth, compassion and care shown to John in his final years by the dedicated staff of Sherwood Care and Summerwood Village and by Dr. Trent Dusang and Dr. Wing Lim.
