Louise Donna Maryniak

Louise was born in Kelvington, Saskatchewan, and raised in Regina, SK before moving to Edmonton at the age of 16. Louise passed away on June 3, 2026, after a life well lived.

Louise, born to Paul and Mary Maryniak (née Lipka), took her first breath on October 11, 1951. She was predeceased by her parents and grandparents, Roman and Lenor Maryniak, who immigrated from Poland in 1929 and settled in Saskatchewan, and Peter and Telia (Telka) Lipka, who immigrated to Canada from Austria in 1906 and settled in Saskatchewan. She was also predeceased by her beloved Chihuahua companions and fellow adventurers, Heffy and Jakko.

Louise studied Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Alberta and NAIT and later completed an Executive Administrative Assistant program at Chapelle College in Edmonton.

Louise leaves behind the best and most beautiful daughter anyone could have wished for, Shayla Huber; the best siblings anyone could have had, Lamoine and Leonard Maryniak; her nephews David, Christopher, and Alex; her niece Jessica; and the cherished memory of her sister-in-law, Sherry Maryniak, who predeceased her in 2021. She also leaves behind cousins on her father's side who are far in distance but never in thought: Marlin, Marvin, and Sandy, along with many lifelong friends, dear friends made through her work, and countless others she met in the theatre of life and in Qualicum.

We will miss her dearly.

Memorial plans:
We will be hosting an informal gathering next week, while Shayla is still in town: Saturday, June 27, 2026, 3:00 - 7:00p.m. Notably, we also anticipate holding a more formal memorial service in August, pending availability at the Walterdale Theatre.

Both gatherings will provide an opportunity to share stories, photographs, memories, and laughter as we celebrate Louise's life.

As finger foods and light refreshments will be provided on June 27, guests are kindly requested to RSVP by email. Event details and location information will be shared with those who respond to LouiseMaryniakMemorial@gmail.com. even if you're unable to make this Saturday, and you are interested in being updated for the August plans, please say so and we will send out the information as soon as plans are finalized.
