Matthew Daniel Hallman
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew Daniel Hallman, a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, uncle, and friend. Matthew unexpectedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while driving on June 13th. After fighting bravely for just over two days in the ICU, Matthew peacefully went into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his family on the morning of June 16th, 2025.
Matthew was born to Robert and Delinda Hallman on July 7th, 1999 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was born on a quiet, overcast evening which gave his big brother, Jordan, the idea to want to name him “Cloudy.” He instantly stole all of our hearts with his beaming smile and those twinkling blue eyes.
Matthew was a quiet soul with a heart that spoke volumes through his kindness, his wit, and his unwavering love for those around him. Generous, mischievous, and deeply caring, he had his way of always checking in – always making sure you were okay, even when he was quietly carrying the weight of the world on his own shoulders.
He loved late-night drives with nowhere particular to go, just him and his thoughts - or Zeus, his beloved dog. He would spend countless hours working on one of the over twenty vehicles/motorbikes he had owned in his short life. His humor was quick, he always had a joke brewing behind that mischievous smile.
Matthew joins his Grandpa Arne and Farfar Karl in heaven.
He leaves to mourn his loving parents, Robert and Delinda; his brother Jordan, his sister Danielle and soon to be brother-in-law Laron and nephew Ezarynn; his Grandma Mildred; his Farmor Kerstin; his uncles and aunts Scott and Delona, Dave and Rhonda, Dennis and Paola, David and Jenny; his six cousins Andrew/Charity, Jacob, Richard, Joshua and Christine; and his cherished dog, Zeus; as well as many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Matthew was introverted and reserved, once you spoke with him, you were met with someone deeply thoughtful, intelligent, and full of compassion. He loved deeply, he felt deeply, and he never wanted anyone to feel alone.
A private immediate family burial service for Matthew Daniel Hallman will take place at the Peace Cemetery in Devon, Alberta on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
All are warmly invited to join the family for an informal gathering from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Devon Alliance Church, as we come together to honor Matthew’s memory and give thanks to God for the gift of his life.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
