On Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, Ronald (Ron) Miller, devoted husband and loving father, passed away after 77 years of life.

Born to Ronald (senior) and Margaret, he grew up in Edmonton, where he attended the University of Alberta, and eventually entered the world of business administration. He worked diligently throughout his life, and was always recognized for his calming yet impactful presence in the office.

The epitome of kindness, Ron was deeply appreciated for his humility, grace, and gentle touch. He lived intentionally, and always placed his loved ones above himself. In this way, he made it entirely too easy for others to return the love he so generously offered. As a husband and father, he was unsurpassed. The example he set will never be forgotten, nor will the warmth of his smile.

  1. Please accept my deepest condolences on Ron’s recent passing. Although I’ve never met him in person, I spoke to him over the phone many times over the years when I covered reception, as he was a customer of ours.
It was always a pleasure to speak with him, and the surprise calls between us to say hello were truly highlights for me and will be deeply missed. He was just that kind of man. He made my day brighter for having thought of me for no particular reason. I’m heartbroken to hear of his passing, and hope you all take comfort in your memories.

Jackie, I cannot even find words to express my sadness and pain for you and your family.
Ron was without a doubt one of the kindest, warmest and sweetest humans I have ever met. The laughs we shared, your soft voice, warm smile and sweetest hugs….even if Ellie got more of your attention than I did… you will never be forgotten.
“My Ronnie” please Rest In Peace and know you will be missed greatly but NEVER forgotten. Xoxo

  4. Jackie,
Ron was one of my favorite people at the office. Some of my fondest memories with Ron are cheering on the Oilers, chatting about the latest symphony you two attended, and listening to him sing ‘one more for my baby and one more for the road’ as he grabs that last cup of coffee of the day. He will be missed so much. He made everyone around him smile and laugh (his addiction to paper was next level ;-)). You & the family are deep in our thoughts.

  5. Ron was a special soul that brought me many smiles
I will remember him as he was a loving ,kind soul with a fondness for people and always enjoying human interaction
This is a great loss for us but a bonus for his next office
    My deepest condolences

  6. Ron, a quiet man, yet he had a lot of good stuff to give. All one had to do
is listen. Had the pleasure to work alongside Ron for 12 years in the same
office and another 12 years working with him in the same industry.

My deepest condolence’s to Ron’s family, his work family and he will be truly

I will remember Ron for a very longtime.

  9. Ron was such a pleasure to work with. He was always smiling, singing, and joking around the office. Before I went on maternity leave, he was always checking in with me to see how baby was, if I needed anything, and made sure to brush the snow off my car before I had to drive home at the end of the day. He was such a sweet soul and I will miss him dearly. I am sending light & love to you and your family.

  10. Hello My Beautiful Friend Jackie
I am so sorry for your loss of Ron, your rock.
Ron always showed his devoted love and support to you. He was always a gentleman, thoughtful, and helpful to many friends and family. He had patience, kindness and compassion more than most people. Respectful, intelligent and a sense of humour. He was so easy to get to know and befriend. I shall pray and hope his memories comfort your heart and his love provide you peace and his strength guide you through your life ahead. I shall miss him also and offer my condolences and support to you, I have a couple of shoulders to cry on, love and hugs to share.

  11. Ron had another family and I have to say that he was doubly loved for his gentleness, his kindness, his silly jokes, and yes, that smile. I was the youngest of a first set of sister-in-laws, about 4 years old when he joined our family. I never knew my father, my oldest brother was already out in the world, and Ron took the place of both for me. Reading all these memories, my heart breaks a little, and I can tell you, Ron, that I am so deeply sad that I have no more recent memories than a ride home on a bitter cold day in Calgary, in the late 1990s (because the car I bought for $1 from that ex-wife of yours, my oldest sister, had died in the cold again(!) – damn her!! (: What can we do if we can’t laugh?) You have reminded me to fix the relationships that need fixing, and to bring life back to those that have been left too long.

  12. So sorry to read about the passing of Mr. Miller. You always cheered your 3 girls on at all the sporting events back in Springbank. The dad that was there for your girls and had a great smile and very calm presence. I’m sure this has been a difficult time for them. Sending everyone healing during this time. May you Rest in Peace

  13. Dear Jackie,
