Teresa Petraglia passed away peacefully at her home on February 8, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 74.

Born on May 18, 1951, in Piaggine, Italy, Teresa came to Canada as a young girl and made her life first in Montreal before eventually settling in Alberta, where she built her career as a teacher and raised her family.

She is survived by her caring husband, Donald Jones; her son, Anthony, and daughter, Jennifer; her two brothers, Phil and Tony; and her two grandsons, Abram and Ferdinand.

She enriched the lives of generations of students who benefited from her passion and commitment to education. Known for a personality much larger than her stature, she left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched.

We are poorer for her absence.
