Tom Cheng Pee Tan

Mr. Tom Cheng Pee Tan, loving husband and father of three children, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Sturgeon Hospital with his children by his side. He was 76 years old.

Tom was born on August 30, 1948 in Malaysia. He was one of seven children; he has five sisters and a brother. He was an entrepreneur, starting with owning a bike repair shop to owning a couple electronics and appliance shops. He met wife in Malaysia and they got married in 1976. They had two daughters and one son. The family moved to Canada in 1985.

In Edmonton, Tom was a sales associate at Wilson Stationary and Stereo People. And in 1992, he opened his own electronics store Stereo World at Capilano mall. A year later he moved the store to West Edmonton Mall where he ran the business for another decade before retiring.

In retirement, Tom enjoys spending time with the family. He likes the weekend lunches with family. He spent his time researching stocks, watching action movies and Chinese drama and listening to music.

Tom was predeceased by his loving wife.

Tom is survived by his children, grandchildren and siblings. He will be forever loved and missed.
