It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joanne Marie
Hanson. Joanne was a loving daughter to Gerry Hanson, a cherished sister to Don and
Kim Hanson, a doting aunt to Jack and Charles. As well she held a special place in the
hearts of her grandmother Doris, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joanne was predeceased
by her father Bruce Hanson, her Grandfathers Jack MacDougall and Berger Hanson,
her grandmother Margaret Hanson, and her aunt Colleen MacDougall. Her presence
will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Joanne's kindness, warmth, and
bright spirit touched the lives of so many, and her memory will continue to live on in our
hearts. In this time of sorrow, let us come together to celebrate Joanne's life and the
love she shared with all of us.

  1. So sorry to hear the sad news of your daughter Joanne. May god bless her soul and give you courage and strength.

  2. So very sorry to hear about the passing of Joanne. May she rest in pease and may the memories of her bring you comfort in the days ahead.

  3. So sorry to hear of the passing of your daughter, Joanne. She was always there to offer a helping hand and had a smile to warm anyone’s heart. May you find solace in the love of your family and the support of your friends.

  4. “Grief is the cost for loving.” Jo was a special human who was loved by all who knew her. She will be sorrowfully missed but she will live on through the children whom she cherished and brought great joy, friends she laughed with and family with which she shared many beautiful moments. God speed Joanne.

  5. As part of the Meyokumin Elementary School “family” I remember Joanne’s kindness, love and courage. She cheerfully volunteered at Christmas Concerts and other events. These times showed the close bond that you and your daughter had, Gerry. We know you must miss her so much.
I pray that God will comfort you and your family as you grieve her absence yet reflect on her legacy.
I regret that because I am in Ontario caring for an elderly aunt, I cannot be at Joanne’s Celebration of Life.
