It is with great love and deep sorrow that we share the passing of Maureen Elizabeth Roe on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025, at the age of 66.

Born on June 10th, 1958, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Maureen was a woman who lived gently but left a lasting impact. She once described herself as “a quiet soul, soft-hearted and kind,” and that is exactly how she moved through the world—with humility, grace, and compassion. She was introspective, thoughtful, and fiercely loving. Her faith, integrity, and loyalty guided every chapter of her life.

She was the kind of person who listened more than she spoke, who found joy in life’s simple moments, and who believed in doing the right thing even when no one was watching. She loved deeply and carried the weight of others’ pain—and her own—without ever complaining.

Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rebecca Kaut; her cherished grandchildren, Sam, Felix, and Johanna; and her siblings, Mary Louise Piepgrass, Brent (Barbara) Piepgrass, Brenda (Patrick) Keyes, and Ward (Christina) Piepgrass. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were touched by her quiet strength and unwavering kindness.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Bert Francis & Joyce Louise Piepgrass, and her dear sister, Kathy Ann Chui.

Maureen’s life was a quiet but powerful example of resilience, grace, and goodness. As she once wrote, she didn’t need to be the loudest in the room—she was a calm in the chaos, a comfort in times of sorrow, and a soul who always led with kindness.

Though she is no longer with us, her presence lives on in the hearts she touched and the lives she gently shaped. May we each carry forward her legacy of quiet strength, unwavering love, and simple acts of goodness.
