Dr. Ross Fraser, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and dear brother passed away April 13th, 2026 at the age of 46.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, raised in St. Albert, he grew up surrounded by family and friends who helped shape the person he became.
He is survived by his loving wife Natasha and two daughters, Anna (8) and Zoe (6), who were the center of his world, his father, Calvin Fraser, and sister Meghan. He was predeceased by his mother Marie Fraser in 2019.
Ross was a globe trotter who developed a love of teaching as a way to see the world, before returning to teach in Edmonton. He brought patience, kindness, and a genuine passion for learning into his classroom, inspiring and guiding those around him every day.
Outside of his work, he found great joy in travelling, hiking, camping and exploring mountain trails. He loved travelling, spending time in nature, and sharing those experiences with his family, sharing his curiosity and sense of adventure.

Condolences to Natasha and family. Calvin, Meghan and family on the passing of Ross. Gone way too soon . Hold your memories close to your heart . He will be deeply missed.
Our son is one of the children who Mr. Fraser inspired with his kindness, guidance, patience and talent as a teacher. Theo’s favourite memory of Mr. Fraser is when he (very patiently) taught him the algorithm to solve a rubics cube to helping with his dexterity as he’s left handed. Everyday Theo came home from Grade 4 and practiced and practiced, solving it faster and faster until he managed to do it in less than 20 seconds. Only then did he feel like he could take his cube to school to show Mr. Fraser that he’d FINALLY mastered it. Mr Fraser was so proud and Theo liked to tease him that now he was faster than him 🥲 It was the sweetest interaction and that rubics cube still comes with us everywhere we go. Now it’s even more special to our boy who was so very heartbroken to hear of Mr. Fraser’s passing 💔 He asked me to pass on this message of love and care for Mr. Fraser and his family. Our deepest condolences to all of you as well as the school community that will miss him so dearly.
I was very sorry to hear of Ross’ passing. I have many fond memories of Ross as a child at family get togethers. May you find warmth and comfort in your own memories of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
To Natasha, Anna, and Zoe, Calvin, Meghan, and others in Ross’s family, I share your shock at his death and the grief you feel now and in the future. I can only hope that the support and love you receive from your friends and the memories of Ross that you cherish will comfort you and over time ease your pain.

All of our hearts go out to his family. I remember walking into class and him calling us munchkins, reminding me to do rocket math. His loss is huge, and he will be missed.
“Resting peacefully”
Prayers from the Wilkies to the Fraser family.
TO Calvin and the rest of the Fraser family – our deepest condolences for this tragic loss to the family and the education community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Our deepest condolences to Ross’s family. As a colleague of Calvin’s, I only remember Ross as a child while visiting Calvin and Marie, and later on learning of their pride when Ross became a teacher. Forty-six is far too young, and this loss feels incredibly unfair. Our hearts go out to you all. Sending you love and strength.
Ross was a wonderful colleague and a truly motivated individual. I always admired his dedication to his work, his education, and his many adventures, but most of all, the way he spoke of his two daughters. He was a constant support to all of us at the office, especially during unpredictable times. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family.
My deepest condolences to the Fraser family. Ross ( Mr. Fraser) was an absolute amazing teacher. Colleague and a family member to our Victoria School. When I went to the Celebration of Life for him on Sunday you could tell how much joy and happiness he brought to each person there. I remember telling him about my son who is Autistic and hates bugs on how much I wanted to take him camping and Ross sent me a list of all The favorite Fraser Camping and Hiking places. He even offered to loan any camping gear to me and my son. I not only had the privilege and honor to work with Ross in his Grade 3 and his Grade 3/4 class and not only did he have such a unique way of teaching but he made learning so much fun. The laughter of the little kids while they learned Mr. Fraser’s Math Games was so awesome to hear. His presence and knowledge is forever missed in our school and there definitely is a huge void left in our community. My heart goes out to Natasha ,Anna ,Zoe, Calvin and Meghan. 😞
