Tracey Colautti
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Tracey Colautti on February 1, 2026. As she wished, Tracey passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her closest family.
After bravely overcoming breast cancer in the early 2000s, Tracey was more recently diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away following a lengthy battle with COPD.
Tracey is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of fifty-four years, Frank; her children Frank (Sheri), Allan, and Lisa; her beloved grandchildren Anthony (Melissa), Jakob, Dakota, and Renèe, who was her best friend. She was also blessed with the love of her bonus family, Alan and Dawn.
The pride and joy of her life were her great-grandchildren Ava, Avah, Willow, Owen, and Forrest. She was fortunate to be blessed with an amazing brother-in-law, Clark, and sisters-in-law Rita, Cecilia, and June, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She shared a special bond with her three nieces, Debbie, Dawn, and Diana.
Tracey was predeceased by her father, Fred Fisher; her mother, Mary Helen McKenzie; her loving sister, Mary Helen Dunford-Ascott; and her brothers-in-law, Eugene Colautti and Bill McHorgh.
Born on April 30, 1954, in Windsor, Ontario, Tracey married the love of her life on December 11, 1971, after a short courtship and engagement. Together they raised their three children while travelling across Canada—from Victoria to Newfoundland—living on more than ten military bases and creating countless family adventures. While working odd jobs along the way, Tracey’s proudest achievement was raising her children while Frank served with the Canadian military until his retirement.
Throughout her life, Tracey found joy in bingo and crafting, often volunteering at bingo events for her grandchildren’s sports teams. She also volunteered extensively at Legion and veterans’ events and cherished the friendships she made through the Ladies’ Auxiliary at the Kingsway Legion.
A devoted Edmonton Oilers fan, Tracey lived and breathed orange and blue and could be found dressed head-to-toe in Oilers gear on game days.
Tracey was a loyal friend and cherished her friendships with Carolyn, Charlotte, Cindy, and many others.
She loved travelling, especially to Mexico, and would never turn down a “mucho mimosa.” Her son’s lake lot—her favourite place—brought her great happiness, where she could often be found by the fire pit, wrapped in a blanket, playing games on her phone.
Tracey never met a dollar store, jewelry store, gift shop, or souvenir shop she didn’t love. Drawn to all things sparkly, her son affectionately called her a “barracuda.” Gift-giving was one of her love languages. Known for her honesty, lack of filter, and occasionally inappropriate jokes, Tracey was a loyal friend who cherished her many friendships. She loved colour, rarely wore black, and had a true zest for life—lighting up every room she entered and helping anyone at any time.
