It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Marcella Ann Goudreau, our beloved wife, mom and grandmother, on December 12, 2025, in Edmonton.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Paul, daughter Colette, son Bernard (Jennifer), grandchildren Jacob and Hailey, brother Ron (Lhiza) and many family members and friends.

Marcy was pre-deceased by her parents Helen and Ken Cooknell.

Marcy was born in St. Paul, AB on April 16, 1950. She grew up in the area and eventually got her teaching degree from the University of Alberta. She began teaching in northern Alberta but spent the bulk of her career with the Black-Gold School Division at École Bellevue School in Beaumont. Marcy was a cherished teacher and colleague with a love for math and a genuine
spirit of collaboration.

Marcy loved crafts and travelling, but nothing compared to her love for her grandkids. She was the proudest grandparent, attending all their school events, gymnastics competitions and hockey games. If she couldn’t be there in person, she followed online, cheering on from afar.

Her big smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all.

The family extends much thanks to the caring staff at the University of Alberta Hospital and the Grey Nuns Palliative Unit.
