On November 11, 2025 Xenia Meckle passed away at the age of 103.

Xenia was born in Myrnam, Alberta and was raised on a farm outside of town. At around the age of 20 she moved to Edmonton.

She was always a hardworking person who loved her garden and contributed to the family’s income by cleaning houses. As funds were limited, she knew how to make a dollar stretch and prepared tasty home cooked meals and became an accomplished seamstress. On June 28, 1947 she married Jonah (Jack) Meckle. They settled in Edmonton and spent the majority of their married life in a small home near the city center.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1958. She loved the Bible and was always ready to share its wonderful truths and hope for a better future (Rev 21:3,4). She was thoroughly convinced that those who are sleeping in death with be resurrected to a beautiful earth. (John 5:28,29).

She is survived by one daughter Deborah and son-in-law Darcy McDonald, one brother Joseph Wasylycia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Xenia is predeceased by her husband Jonah (Jack) Meckle, her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the nurses and care givers at both Shepherds Care Kensington and Youville St. Albert for their excellent care and consideration.
